On Dec 7, 2009, Multimedia Development Corp (MDeC) will host MSC Malaysia Achievement Event 2009 (AE09) at the Le Meridien Hotel Kuala Lumpur. Theme “Shine 2009: An Ovation of Excellence”, AE09 will recognise the accomplishments of companies that have been awarded global standards certification in 2009 and participated in activities organised under MSC Malaysia Capability Development Programme (CDP).
“Our annual Achievement Event is a gala celebration to honour the hard work and commitment shown by companies in Malaysia’s ICT industry to raise their internal competencies and global competitiveness,” said MDeC’s CEO Datuk Badlisham Ghazali. “This year’s honourees have overcome the hurdles thrown up by a difficult economy in addition to the challenges of achieving certification. MDeC is proud to have played a part in their success and to salute their accomplishments at AE09.” CDP is a key initiative in MSC Malaysia’s continuing efforts to assist Malaysia’s ICT industry by developing the nation’s capacity to provide the infra- and info-structure to meet their growing and evolving demands. To achieve this, CDP
offers 11 organisational development programmes and CDP Professional Development that together address the four focus areas of process, people, product and management. CDP programmes help MSC Malaysia-status companies achieve process improvement, professional development, product improvement and better business management by offering a structured developmental programme, funding, knowledge sharing activities and competency enhancement programmes.
AE09 will celebrate the success of MSC Malaysia-status companies that have earned the CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration), ISO20000 (Information Technology Service Management), ISO 27001 (Information Security Management System), ISO 9001:2000 (Quality Management System) and Software Testing certifications. In addition, there will be companies with their employees achieving professional certifications as well.
To date, over 1,500 IT companies have benefited through participation in various CDP initiatives and over 100 companies have been granted certifications since MSC Malaysia CDP was launched in 2004.
