DRÄGER Medical Systems (Mass.)

Embedded Wireless Labs worked with Dräger Medical, A Dräger and Siemens Company, and a leading manufacturer of medical equipment, to migrate their patient monitoring systems to a new Wi-Fi network.

Our engineers based at their facility in Andover. (Mass) developed a compact flash based driver to integrate the new Wi-Fi network card to existing PCMCA.

Wi-Fi networks in hospitals typically deploy multiple access points which require the device's scanning mechanism to detect AP channels quickly in order to maintain real time connection especially in roaming. We designed the controller in the driver to optimise the system's roaming capabilities by scanning only the country specified channels. This allows the driver to connect to the system faster with minimum packet loss as it scans only fewer selected AP channels.
